Abstract: In this final thesis was find out a suitable method and adhesive to consolidat a paintlayer of an indian miniature painting. Indian miniatures are painted with the technique of gouache with multiple paintlayers. This technique leads to losses of paintlayer easily for various reasons. By means of one indian miniature and its paintlose this problem is dicussed and a concept conserving ist paintlayer is compiled. Based on the interpretation of relevant articles about consolidation of dull paintlayer and tests on dummies, an applicable consolidation method and medium was found out. The adhesive was Klucel G in 0,5-1% alcohol solution. As application method the brush was used in the „two brush technique“. This is the most suitable method for the patch consolidation.
