Overview:

Abstract: In this bachelor thesis by Jonas Schäfermeier, a three-dimensional digital capture is performed on the example of a facade sculpture using the Structure from Motion technique, which is supplemented by laser scanning. For the introduction of the photogrammetric techniques its history is presented. This is followed by a summary of the functionality of the used Structure from Motion and laser scanning techniques. An overview of the workflow is given from the photographic acquisition with a multicopter, over the creation of the digital model up to the 3-D-mapping. In the end the tested steps of the workflow are summarized. Furthermore, analogue mapping is theoretically compared and evaluated with digital 2-D- and digital 3-D- mapping. Finally, based on the exemplary 3-D mapping and a 2-D-mapping which is taken from the concurrently conducted bachelor thesis of Lilian Beile the two methods are compared.
