Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: This master thesis deals with the investigation of the barely known ornamental prints collection of the Museum of Applied Arts Cologne, emphasising conservation aspects.
This includes the measurement of climate, light and pollutants in storage areas as well as the development of a database managing inventory, condition surveys, items on loan and conservation treatment.
Furthermore, a survey of the current storage situation is conducted resulting in the recommendation of a new storage system and various measures for sorting the collection.
Finally a concept for the conservation of the ornamental prints is introduced and the exemplary realisation of some mentioned concepts is explained.
