Abstract:	Conservation and restoration of archaeological objects with material assembly need individual consideration. The bachelor thesis focusses on various possibilities dealing with damascened iron objects applied on a karolingian knob. The object is therefor scientifically analysed. Furthermore, the applicability of the desalination method through sodium hydroxide is tested. The results lead to an adequate conservation concept. Top
