Abstract: | The present thesis is about the conservation and restoration of the brass instruments of the „Schwarzburger Zeughaussammlung” (armoury collection) in regard to the reconstruction of the historic exhibition in Schwarzburg/Thuringia. The "Schwarzburger Zeughaus" (armoury building) and his collection of about 4000 weapons and equipment of five centuries in his still existing closeness is a great and unique example for princely representation. For translocating the collection to his historical place it is necessary to reconstruct the armoury‐building and to conserve and restore the whole collection. In the collection there are 32 brass instruments. They should restore into a situation in which they are capable of showing again. Therefor it was possible to create a comprehensive and dedicated conception of treatments. This conception intends a cleaning, a surface‐smoothing and a surfacecoating. |
