Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The renaissance stucco-vault in the gatehouse of castle Lauenstein, shows today an intense damaged, because of its fragile building structure.
The current cultural substance and the present day condition are recorded in writing, photographically kept and mapped, to evaluate a conception for conservation and restauration. The condition-mapping is especially important to monitor the damage process, and overview the need for action in conservation. Another goal is to create proposals for preventive conservation, to minimize the damage before it does emerge. The paper also considers the theoretical options for saving of the fragile stucco-fragments.
