Abstract: | The medieval plaster scrachting art on the western exterior facade of the eastern cloister wing of the Magdeburg Minster is rated among the only in-situ existing monumental plaster scrachtings in Germany. After 150-years history of restoration the condition of the plaster surface is currently conserved. Therefore the focus is placed on restoration concerns. During the present thesis structural examinations and the condition 2016 are summarized. Followed by a theoretical discussion of passive restoration possibilities. In the synopsis a comprehensive concept of presentation under conservation and restoration perspectives is proposed. |
