The practical part deals with the technological examination of two wings of the high altar from the church of St. Peter and Paul in Weißensee (Thuringia). Based on this, a concept to conserve the outer sides of the two wings has been developed and realized. Afterwards a testing area for the retouch was established at the left wing of the altar. The theoretical part deals with the problem of gypsum crusts on wooden objects.
