Abstract: Subject of the master thesis is the late Gothic crucifix of the St. Moritzkirche in Naumburg.
The work contains the art technological examination, the description of the preservation condition, the concept for the preservation and restoration as well as the documentation of the executed work.
The crucifix was marked by a great polychromy loss as well as the strong pollutions and contaminations by fly feces. The cords applied for the vein imitation represent a special feature of the crucifix.
The theory work takes up the topic and deals with the possibilities for the representation of plastic veins at late Gothic cruxifixes.
