The aqueous blue paint layer in the wooden sculpture "Madonna on the Crescent Moon" from the City Hall of Lüneburg shows the phenomenon of chalking. In this work the blue paint layer is closer investigated and a possibility of her consolidation is considered. In tests a Smalt pigment layer which simulates the blue paint of the "Madonna on the Crescent Moon" is consolidated with various adhesives. The adhesives are applied with the aerosol generator AGS 2000. Criteria for the assessment are the consolidation ability and the optical change of the paint layer.
