Abstract: The “Little Epiphany gate”, an oasis in the heart of the city center of Cologne, is a unique building in the Lorraine-influenced art of the Middle Ages from Cologne. The main focus of this thesis is the detailed inventory and condition taking also into consideration the historical significance of art and culture. Through analysis and selected with the help of the specialized literature on the conservation of existing materials could be formulated recommendations for action. Result is that more interdisciplinary research is required, and undertakes measures to reduce salts where Dreikönigenpförtchen sustainable, object-oriented conservation and restoration can be. Only minimal interventions for emergency savings would be desirable in the near future.
