Overview:

Abstract: On the one hand the work is focused on the injection of scales through the choice of suitable mortars for injection and the determination of functional application methods, on the other hand on the stabilisation of the surface through the development of suitable repair mortars and lime washes. The selection of the repair and inject mortars keep to quality determinations of the limestone and to technical demands. The mortar recipes developed in the campaign in 2006 constitute the basis for the mortars, that have to be adapt to the arid desert climate and the limestone of Athribis. Based on investigations at the Repit-temple and several tests with mortars, the conservation of a selected test area in room D02 of the sanctuary will be carried out as a major part of that work.
