Zusammenfassung: | The restoration and conservation done on the 1926 Wanderer W10/II is a cooperative effort between the graduating class for Restoration and Excavation at the University of Berlin, Department for Industry and Technique, and the Auto Union GmbH ( Audi ) Ingolstadt, Germany. Premises for this work was the conservation of the textiles used within the interior of the automobile as well as to eliminate any parasites found. After conducting various scientific tests and research as to the make up of the textiles found and the required methods of treatment and storage, a methodic was established for the required work. This took into account the presence of other materials and their individual restorative requirements, the goal being to ensure that the interior of the automobile would be in a preserved state. At the end of it´s restoration, the Wanderer is to be exhibited in the Auto Union GmbH Historic Automobile Exhibition. |
