Zusammenfassung: | Since their exposure (1933) the medieval mural paintings had been restored for three times. Nethertheless in these days their are almost unrecognizable. Public claims an increasing decay. That problem had to be examined, a draft for preserving the murals in future had to be developed. The present condition is caused by the preservatives applied for conservation. This was supposed by exploring the history of restoration and could be proved by scientific examination and comparing photographies from the last century. A progress of decay as well as an acute danger of loss can be excluded yet. However the murals are fragile. Therefore the best way of preservation is the maintenance by periodical registering of their condition and executing necessary measures of protection. Although maintenance is the most careful method of preserving monuments it is hardly practice with mural paintings. But especially for art historic and regional significant objects maintenance is important for their future. |
