Zusammenfassung: | The subject of this master´s thesis was the initially unknown painting of a female allegory from the Roemer- and Pelizaeus Museum in Hildesheim. The focus here was on examining the painting and the history of the restoration, as well as developing a concept for the entire processing of the painting. The aim was also to consider authorship based on technological findings and research. The painting is lined on a textile fabric, what to do with that. In addition, the partially removed varnish, the existing paint layer cracking and the partially removed and still existing aged retouching gave reasons to deal with the topic of de-restoration and its restoration ethics. |
