| Zusammenfassung: | The present paper deals with the description and condition of a diorama with a polychrome painted figure group. The object is in possession of the Reiss-Engelhorn-Museen in Mannheim. Aims of this Bachelor Thesis are the material identification of the figure group as well as the research into the art-historical and cultural-historical background and the finding of new knowledge about the production technology of this object. Moreover art-historical searches and technological analysis are consulted. Furthermore possible causes for the present damage are presented. The recommendations to further conservation and restoration as well as the measures already carried out are also introduced. Finally, adequate storage conditions are suggested in order to prevent the material from further damage. |
