Zusammenfassung: | During the renovation of a house in Bad Windsheim was one of the oldest wallpapers from the Renaissance period discovered and so subject of this thesis. The wallpapers are so‐called Fladerpapiere (curled spot papers), with several pasted broadsheets and borders on it. The concept on the spot was to conserve the papers also to collect and map the stock. The question of the specific motives, their arrangement and its dating has to be answered. The restoration of sample axes and also the discussion of presentation have to be done. A second approach deals with the restoration and presentation of three planks with curled spot papers which were removed during the construction measures. Specific steps such as studies on material and technique, a varnish removal without solvent, consolidation with starch, additions by inserting paper inlays and the discussion to the retouching of paper are included in the present work. |
