Zusammenfassung: | Bioengineered bacterial cellulose is a novel material and is characterized mainly by ist chemical purity and mechanical stability. Bacterial cellulose (BC) can be used as a pulp in paper conservation. Recipes were developed for making papers that are optimal for infilling losses in coated papers. Various research methods therefore concentrated on determining the paper-specific properties of the BC papers in comparison to the coated papers, focusing primarily on the mechanical stability, the specific volume, the opacity, the whiteness and luster. As part of this research, a guide was developed explaining the practical application of BC as a pulp for making these conservation papers. Furthermore, the use of BC-paste with fillers as a means of compensating losses to the surface of coated paper is presented. |
