Zusammenfassung: | The castle on the Peacock Island, built under Frederick William II. and the Countess Lichtenau, has an exceptional character among the Prussian castles with regard to his original conservation status. The most magnificient room of the ensemble is the neo-classical Hall on the piano nobile, which is made by 15 different mostly domestic woods. Additional to a study of the building history, the cabinet makers and materials; the condition assessment and damage identification was recorded and documented. A concept created for the conservation/restoration of the panelling is based on a historic preservation assessment of the ensemble, taking into account the conservation status of the entire castle. In addition, a digital color reconstruction shows the possible former appearance of the panelling. |
