Zusammenfassung: | The artist Karl Junker [*1850 †1912] lived and worked in Lemgo in the district Lippe. His artistic estate contains a house which was entirely designed by him and which include numerous furniture, about 550 graphics, gouache, water colours and sketches, about 300 paintings on textile frames as well as on timber panels and about 150 cutted reliefs and sculptures. His work is regarded as the precursor of expressionism and it shows a stylistic connection to historism as well as to art nouveau. The predominant number of objects created by him are not stored in the “Junkerhaus” but on inconvenient conditions in the attic of a 250 year-old house. Besides the general requirements on an art depot this work focuses on proposals for the improvement in the current storage situation of the collection Junker. The topics location and building, equipment and storage systems, administration of the location, climate, light, dirt, integrated pest management, pollutants, fire protection and burglary prevention device are explained and analysed. In the context of preventative conservation a practicable concept is presented for the public responsible. |
