Abstract: This study examines the synthetic resin Laropal® A81 as a painting varnish. A series of tests investigates the influence of different solvents on the varnish itself and on the surface characteristics of test samples. Variations resulting from application techniques and the types of dummies used are compared.
Surface analyses are carried out before and after varnish application using gloss and color measurement devices.
