Beate Schrepp: Development of a concept for documenting the condition of small monuments using the example of the small monuments in Reicholzheim Back
Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: This bachelor´s thesis develops a concept for assessing the condition of small monuments. The
concept includes a systematic cataloque and risk analysis. The risk analysis considers the
surrounding environment, as well as the condition assessment. It evaluates the overall risk for
a small monument from a set of selected and relevant sub-risks. Templates are created to
collect the essential data for assessing the sub-risks. The risk assessment can serve as a basis
for prioritizing necessary conservation measures. This concept is tested by investigating a
number of small monuments made out of stone in the community of Reicholzheim. For this
purpose, 16 small monuments of different types were recorded, photographed, and their risks
evaluated based on the developed concept. The bachelor´s thesis aims to provide guidance for
the preservation of small monuments.
