Abstract: | The chair maker Bartelsen made the wooden Round throne in 1810. The lime wood produced furniture possesses rich carvings. The Round throne was analyzed in view of construction, used materials and production techniques. Based on testing results a rework on the surface coating and construction was identified which was supposable carried out in the 1950s. Because of the long duration of the exhibition under adverse climate conditions, the furniture is in an inadequate state. After a comprising documentation, recommendations regarding conservation and restoration will be given and exemplary accomplished. |
