Books create the space you need to gain distance and to penetrate deeper into things.

Internet publications have their advantages, but they could not replace the book. On the contrary: From the natural sciences we know that after the electronic publication of full texts, the purchase of printed versions increased. We would like to have certain books, such as an encyclopaedia or some collective publications, on our shelves, always within reach.

For this reason, the Hornemann Institute maintains a series of publications, especially for conference proceedings and for publications on the cultural history of the region, which are also aimed at a wider audience.
